Problem: Tilda Rice needed to lift a mechanical shovel in and out of ships' holds to remove grain remaining after the vacuum process had taken place.

Solution: Lifting & Access designed, manufactured and installed a swing jib attached to an existing Stoddard and Pitt quayside crane. This successfully resolved Tilda's problem of how to get a mechanical shovel in and out of the barge holds. The swing jib and electric hoist took 2 weeks to manufacture. It took 2 weeks to install and certify.

Lifting & Access still conduct maintenance services every 6 months. This involves thorough examination and inspection of the lifting equipment Lifting & Accessed designed and manufactured.
